Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski: Bush lied.

More specifically, Kwasniewski said: "That they deceived us about the weapons of mass destruction, that's true. We were taken for a ride." Poland nevertheless plans to remain in Iraq, although they may withdraw earlier than they had planned.

No doubt this unexpected bit of truth is as motivated by politics as anything else. Bush failed Spain, and the voters punished the government for having followed him. The government of Poland doesn't want to meet the same electoral fate. I expect other governments will follow their lead.

It's too bad for Bush that the "Coalition of the Willing" isn't entirely composed of repressive dictatorships like Uzbeckistan. No chance of voter sentiment changing policy there!
