Don't underestimate the influence of Arnold.

Kevin of Calpundit says that the party should focus on defeating Bush, or electing Boxer, or any number of issues other than Arnold - as if Arnold were separable from them. While Arnold may be pro-choice and pro-equality, it is unlikely that either of these will prevent him from campaigning on behalf of every anti-choice, anti-equality candidate in California and elsewhere. He will campaign for Bush, despite his anti-choice, anti-equality positions; he will campaign against Boxer, despite her pro-choice, pro-equality positions. He will be the smiling face of Republicanism. The Democrats must deprive the Republicans of that smiling face: they must recall Arnold.
