Bit by bit, they're repealing civil rights.

According to Tapped, not only can religious organizations receive public funds, they can practice religious discrimination in employment while receiving them.

Are you shocked? You shouldn't be. Two years ago, Bush conspired with the Salvation Army to subvert state and local law prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. The Salvation Army would lobby Congress to allow religious organizations to receive public funds; in return, the Bush Administration would cut federal funds to state and local governments "that require religious charities to 'adopt terms or practices for those with religious responsibilities' or to provide employment benefits, if the practices or benefits 'are inconsistent with the beliefs and practices' of the charity."

Righties wonder why lefties hold Bush in such contempt. With policies like these, I wonder how they don't.
